Cairns First

Cr Kirsten Lesina is serving her first term on Council representing Division Four which covers Bayview Heights, Woree, Bungalow, Earlville, Kanimbla and Mooroobool.

Kirsten was born in Cairns as a fourth generation resident and grew up on the southern side of the city. Kirsten attended St Gerard Majella Primary School and St Mary’s Catholic College and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from James Cook University in 2008.

Kirsten is a full time Councillor who is Chairperson of the Cairns Pedestrian and Cycling Focus Group. Kirsten also serves on the Far North (Cairns) Community Jobs Priority Committee, Community Supporting Police Committee, Independent Rates Relief Tribunal and Community Safety Committee.

As a young person, Kirsten is passionate about youth issues and works hard to ensure that the youth of the Cairns Region are engaged in the process of Local Government.

Kirsten is the youngest Councillor in the history of the Cairns Region.
